Motus

Effective March 1, 2026,

We will be implementing updates to the Motus program based on feedback received from employees. These changes are intended to improve the program, better reflect current vehicle costs, and support continued compliance.

We appreciate the feedback shared and are actively using it to strengthen the experience for drivers enrolled in the Motus program.

What Is Changing?

Updated Base Vehicle Models
We are updating the base vehicle models used in Motus to model year 2026. This update aligns the program with current vehicle costs and may result in an increase depending on type of vehicle and other factors for drivers participating in the program.

Insurance Deductible Update
We are also updating the assumed insurance deductible requirement from $500 to $1,000. This change will reduce the fixed portion of the reimbursement. However, the premium savings from switching to a $1,000 deductible are expected to help offset this reduction and may allow more drivers to meet program compliance requirements.  We are updating the deductible based on feedback from employees.

What Is Motus?

Motus is a third-party solution used to manage vehicle usage reimbursement. Programs like Motus are designed to cover costs incurred by employees when using their personal vehicles for business-related purposes, such as mileage, fuel, and maintenance expenses. This approach provides IRS-compliant, tax-advantaged reimbursement for both fixed and variable vehicle costs while improving consistency and efficiency.

What Motus Is NOT

Motus is not a form of compensation. Compensation is payment for work performed or work-related achievement. Motus reimbursement is intended solely to cover business-related vehicle expenses.

What You Need to Know

  • Effective Date: These changes will take effect March 1, 2026.

  • Reimbursement Impact:

    • Fixed reimbursement may increase from the base model update depending on type of vehicle and other factors for drivers.

  • Insurance Documentation: Once this change is live, insurance documents will need to be re-uploaded in Motus to reflect the updated deductible if you are choosing to change to the $1000 deductible.

These updates are part of our continued effort to respond to employee feedback, maintain IRS compliance, and improve the Motus program for our drivers.
